FULL DAY SANTO ANTAO
Itinerary:
08:00 AM – Meeting at the Porto Novo city port.
From the Porto Novo port, we begin our journey towards the northern coast of the island,following the old road into the mountains. Along the way, we will make stops at the main tourist points on the eastern plateau, where green landscapes of pines and cedars await us. We will visit the impressive volcanic crater Cova and the viewpoints of Corda and Delgadinho, each offering breathtaking views. You will be captivated by steep landscapes in contrast to the desert aridity of the southern island, as well as small villages perched on hillsides and valleys cultivated with a variety of crops, such as bananas, sugarcane, breadfruit, cassava, tomatoes, figs, and apples, among others. Continuing our route, we will reach the Ribeira da Torre (Xoxo) valley, known for its typical cultures and plantations that provide impactful and beautiful panoramas. We will make a stop in the charming village of Fontainhas, where we will have the opportunity to interact with the local population, known for their friendliness and hospitality.
01:00 pm – Lunch break in Ponta do Sol, a picturesque fishing community with old houses of Portuguese colonial architecture.
02:30 pm – Departure for the exotic Paul Valley, known as the garden of Cape Verde, for its lush vegetation and stunning landscapes.
03:30 pm – Return to the Porto Novo port, following the island’s coastal road.
05:00 pm – Boarding the ferry boat to Sao Vicente.
06:00 pm – Arrival at the Mindelo port and transfer to the hotel. Embark on a day full of discoveries and breathtaking landscapes in Santo Antao, an experience that will be etched in your memory forever.
